Hey family! Well I am now officially 20 yrs old. It was a good birthday, contacting and visiting and usual. How sad about
Ms Zelaya. Wow how sad. How is the family? I hope they are doing ok. Wow crazy
Zac is coming home and one of the pateys. Man how fast time goes by.
Well my birthday was relatively uneventful. The district tried to
have some secret combinations to buy a cake, but I accidently ruined their
plans. hahaha but we were able to buy a cake and had a nice cake dinner,
because we don’t have dinner here. But it was good. Today we finally were able
to climb the mountain in my area. We left at 5:30 am and climbed and climbed
and climbed and kept climbing. We have some pretty cool pictures.
This next week will be really awesome. They family Antunez will be
getting married and baptized and also a young man named Luis. We are really
excited for them and hopefully everything will go well. As for this week I want to tell you guys of
some cool experiences that we had while looking for some new people. We
contacted a ton of people this past week. We decided that we were going to use
the Book of Mormon more. So we tried to share with everyone about the Book of
Mormon. We found one man who seemed very interested in the Book of Mormon and
another lady that was very interested. As I told you in the phone call on
Mother’s day that there are a lot of churches here but thanks to the Book of
Mormon we have been able to share our message with even faithful members of
other churches. The most special experience that we had this past week came for
a contact we did a week ago. We were a little hesitant for returning as to what
seemed to be the lack of interest but we returned. We arrived yesterday to find
a lady crying on the porch. We introduced ourselves and asked if we could share
a message with her. She accepted. As we began to talk to her she told us that
she has been really worried for one of her children who has been doing some bad
things lately. She expressed her need to follow Christ in her life and also
shared her desire. It was a powerful experience where we could feel the Spirit
very strongly as we testified on the rescuing power of the Savior.
That’s about it. During my studies today and this past week I was
especially touched by Enos’s heartfelt prayer that lasted all day and all
night. What I find so powerful about his prayer is the way he expresses his
prayer. It was not a couple of words that he said, nor was it a list of things
that he recited. It was a heartfelt and sincere communication that he had with
our Heavenly Father. He struggled to find the words adequate and expressed the
desires and deepest feelings of his heart. We all know what happened thanks to
his prayer. His prayer not only affected him but it affected his whole
posterity and especially the protection of the Book of Mormon. We like Enos can
and should have constant and consistent heartfelt and sincere communication
with our Heavenly Father. Not only will it bless us but also it will bless our
families and our posterity. It’s interesting in the Book of Mormon how often it
mentions prayer and the blessings received. It is the first step in conversion.
May we all be a little more like Enos and improve our daily personal and family
prayers. I love you guys and hope you
guys have a great week. Tomorrow is my last interview with President. :(
Love Elder Neuberger
