HOoi! well hello there how is everyone doing? Well can’t
believe another week has gone by. Like Elder Blaisdell says, the mission is
like a roll of toilet paper, the faster you get to the roll, the quicker it
goes. The mission is flying by and there is so much stuff to do in our area.
There are so many people to teach and we have been very blessed to be able to
find many people. We saw miracles this past week. Anyways I didn’t have changes
neither my comp. There was only like 2 changes in the whole zone. We aren’t in
a trio anymore because a new comp came for Elder Lessard. Crazy to hear
that you guys ran in with sis Sherman. She was an awesome missionary. Say hi to
her if you get the chance. Anyways we had a great week. We spent a lot of
time this past week looking for new people and man did we find some awesome
prepared people! We worked a lot with members and our investigators to find new
people to teach and we found almost 20 new people in the week.
For example one man we found when we showed up to an old
investigators house and began to teach him. This was Friday. We taught him and
invited him to church. And as you can guess when Sunday came rolling around he
was there with his daughter. Turns out he is married, like legally, so we are
excited to start to teach this family. Another man showed up to church this
past week, we began to talk with him and learned that his wife is a less active
and he decided to come to church. He invited us over to his house on Wednesday
so we will see how it goes. One of our investigators was suppose to get
baptized this past week but is having troubles with feeling prepared for her
baptism. She is a single mom and is really awesome but doesn’t feel like she is
quite ready.
So apart from having a extremely awesome week, the sun could not
have been stronger. I don’t think I have walked so much in my life than we did
in this past week. We walked a lot. There just really isn’t time to waste here
with how much work there is to get done here. Just wanted to share some
spiritual thoughts on some of the things I learned this past week. In
priesthood this past week the teacher talked about personal peace and how we
obtain personal peace in our lives. Personal peace is the gift of
righteousness. In the scriptures it states that the two big blessings of
keeping the commandments and being righteous is peace in this life and eternal
life in the world to come. So how can we be more righteous and have our lives
more focused on Christ? It all begins in our thoughts. In D&C 6:36 is
states that we must look to God in all of our thoughts to doubt not and to not
fear. All ordinances of the gospel are designed to help us to remember Christ
and keep Him the center point of our lives. If Christ is always the center
point of our thoughts, peace will be experienced. His attributes will be your
attributes, and your life will be changed. We must never forget to not only
live the Gospel but to think it also. As we always have eye single to the glory
of God, we will never fall, because we will be founded upon the rock of our Redeemer
who is Christ. So my invitation for this week is to simply think of Him more.
Something very interesting that some of the leaders that we had come
talked a lot about thinking about Christ at the very start of the day. Elder
Duncan stated that that was the way that he got the Spirit with him each and
every day. So lets think of Him more. I promise that as we do our lives will
